let’s try this again

It would appear that Sphere has gone live.

Tony Conrad was nice enough to call this afternoon and let me know that they’d be turning on the lights and opening doors at 10 pm PST this evening, and it’s nice to see that every thing has proceeded as planned.

I wrote last week about the launch (before it got delayed), and the essay I put together about the design decisions we made for the interface in the first phase. All of that’s still worth a read, so go on and check it out. If you’re coming from the AP essay link, welcome to Second Verse.

More than anything, at this point I want to congratulate Tony, Toni, Martin, Steve and Mary on the launch. They were an amazing team to work with, and it’s a pleasure to get to see this go live. Couldn’t happen to a nicer crew.

[update 5/02/06]: Mike Arrington’s got his review of Sphere up over at TechCrunch.

You and your team at Adaptive Path did an incredible job on the UI and design of Spere. Not surprising at all really, but commendable none the less. Keep up the good work.
